I’m Lukas Schneiderbauer, born at 1989 in Austria and currently studying Physical Science at the University of Vienna.
My main interests (and that is, what I’m bloggin about) lie on the one hand in computer technologies:
- especially Open Source stuff like Linux (I’m a convinced Linux-User of course
) and all around it.
And this is the system I work on:
Distribution :: Gentoo (unstable portage tree)
Kernel :: 2.6.35 (zen-sources)
GUI-system :: X.org X-Server 1.9.0
Desktop environment :: KDE 4.5.1 (Window-Manager: xmonad 0.9)
- Actually programming was a big part of my life, but I must sadly admit, I’m inactive in this discipline for over a year yet. In my MS-Windows time I did some work in C# (partly .NET-Framework-managed C++) and Java (which I learned to hate). Due to the discovery of Linux and the followed change from Windows to Linux (first Ubuntu, then Gentoo), I tried to find a new language, which matches my needs in this new world. Ruby should it be. I instantly fell in love with it. Now I’m waiting for an opportunity to collect experience with it.
On the other hand, there is physics and mathematics:
Actually I don’t really know, what to say to this topic. I’m not really experienced now, but I think I can blog about physical cases, that troubled or fascinated me in regardless of which aspect. So maybe other people can take profit from it.
Hm.. that was it, I guess.
Hope you enjoy the blog!
